    Bechtel Telecommunications Honored for Innovation Six Sigma Project

    Bechtel Telecommunications received the Most Innovative Six Sigma Project Award honorable mention for their "Alternative Site Selection Process Improvement" using Bechtel's Virtual Survey Tool (VST) for network deployment. The award was presented to Bechtel Telecommunications at the Sixth Annual European Six Sigma Summit in London on April 27th.

    Bechtel Wins Court Order to Seize Indian Assets

    Armed with a federal court ruling handed down Friday, an affiliate of Bechtel Corporation has attached all shares in Dabhol Power Corp. owned by a company controlled by the Indian state of Maharashtra, the country's commercial center and second largest state. Bechtel took action when the Indian company failed to meet a Friday deadline, set by an international arbitration panel last month, to pay Bechtel US$123 million for violations of its shareholder rights in the Dabhol power project, the largest foreign investment in India's history.

    Shell and Bechtel Agree to $1.75 Billion Sale of Intergen

    Shell Generating (Holding) B.V., a subsidiary of The Royal Dutch/Shell Group ("Shell"), and Bechtel Enterprises Energy B.V., a subsidiary of Bechtel Group, Inc., today signed an agreement to sell InterGen N.V. and 10 of its power plants to a partnership between AIG Highstar Capital II L.P. and Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan for $1.75 billion.

    Atlantic Raises the Roof on Fourth LNG Tank

    Atlantic LNG's Train 4 development passed a significant milestone when the roof was raised on the outer structure of the fourth LNG storage tank being built at the company's Point Fortin plant. Bechtel serves as the main contractor on Atlantic's Train 4 project.

    Iraq's Sweet Water Canal Restoration Complete

    December 21, 2004 -- The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) announced that Southern Iraq’s Sweet Water Canal restoration was successfully completed last week. The completed USAID project improves the quality and nearly doubles the quantity of treated water produced for the 1.75 million of the Basrah region.
