    Cheniere Energy Awards Construction Turnkey Contract to Bechtel Corporation

    Cheniere Energy, Inc. (AMEX:LNG) announced that its wholly owned limited partnership, Sabine Pass LNG, L.P. (Sabine), and Bechtel Corporation executed a Lump Sum Turnkey Agreement for the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) of the Sabine Pass liquefied natural gas (LNG) receiving, storage and regasification terminal to be located in western Cameron Parish, Louisiana. Sabine intends to give Bechtel Limited Notice to Proceed under the EPC agreement for off-site engineering and preparatory work to commence later this month. Construction at the site is expected to begin during the first quarter of 2005, and the terminal is scheduled to be operational in early 2008.

    Bechtel Awarded $1.5 Billion OGD III Gas Expansion Project in the United Arab Emirates

    Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Company (GASCO), the onshore gas-processing subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), has awarded Bechtel the $1.5 billion Onshore Gas Development (OGD) III project to expand production of the oil and gas field in Habshan, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The project will run from December 2004 to April 2008, and the scope of work covers engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and commissioning.

    Bechtel/Parsons Brinckerhoff Testifies in Boston About Big Dig Tunnels

    Representatives of the Bechtel/Parsons Brinckerhoff joint venture appeared today in Boston before the Joint Transportation Committee of the Massachusetts State Legislature to discuss the issue of water entering tunnels in the Central Artery/Tunnel Project. The session lasted approximately three hours.

    Bechtel has received the first annual award for achieving exceptional building project value from Stanford'sCenter for Integrated Facility Engineering and Harvard's Center for Design Informatics. Companies that entered the competition nominated projects that used effective business methods, enabled by computer applications, to create new facilities that have exceptional value for owners.

    Brass LNG Project: Front End Engineering and Design Contract Awarded

    Brass LNG Limited has awarded the contract for the Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) of its liquefied natural gas plant to the San-Francisco based Bechtel Incorporated. It is envisaged that the LNG plant will be sited in Brass, Bayelsa State, Nigeria.

    Bechtel, Cinergy/PSI, Get to Explore Building Cleaner Coal Power Plant

    GE Energy, Bechtel Announce Alliance for Cleaner Coal Projects

    GE Energy and Bechtel Corporation today announced their intent to establish an alliance to develop a standard commercial offering for optimized integrated combined-cycle gasification (IGCC) projects in North America. IGCC systems convert coal and other hydrocarbons into synthetic gas, which after cleanup is used as the primary fuel for a gas turbine in a combined-cycle system. IGCC systems offer significant environmental benefits compared to traditional pulverized coal power plants.

    Usaid Announces the Re-opening of the Tikrit Bridge in Iraq

    In support of the U.S. Government's rebuilding efforts in Iraq, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) today announced the re-opening of the Tikrit Bridge. The bridge is an important link over the Tigris River between the Iraqi cities of Tikrit and Kirkuk. This is the third and final bridge reconstruction along the major transportation routes in Iraq.

    The innovative and visually stunning Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge, a crown jewel of Boston's Central Artery/Tunnel project, has a new honor to add to its list of accolades. The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has named the bridge the 2004 winner of its Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement award.
