Blue Grass & Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Plants
A Bechtel-led team safely destroyed the U.S.’s chemical weapons stockpile at these Bechtel-built-and-operated facilities, which held over 3,000 tons of chemical agents in artillery projectiles, mortar rounds, and M55 rockets. Both facilities began final campaigns in 2022 to support national commitments under the 1997 Chemical Weapons Convention to meet the September 2023 completion deadline.
