Our work in Europe has included vital motorways, metro systems, and energy infrastructure, including Poland’s first nuclear power plant.
Bechtel’s first project in continental Europe was expanding an oil refinery in Naples, Italy, in 1953. Since then, we’ve been a key provider of rail, motorway, and energy infrastructure.
We have helped our European partners build routes to economic growth for decades. Bechtel-built motorways are connecting regions, increasing trade opportunities, and creating jobs. Our Morava Motorway project is creating stronger ties to Western Europe and connecting commercial centers, while also including an expansive telecommunications network that will support local communities and drive economic development.
Today, we are also developing Poland’s first nuclear power plant, helping the country ensure energy security while also working toward its net-zero emissions goals.
