This recognition recognizes outstanding leadership and excellence in the management and delivery of road infrastructure programs that enhance mobility, safety, and sustainability on a global scale.
Bechtel-ENKA Morava Corridor Motorway team received the award during a ceremony in Orlando, FL.
Bechtel was selected for its commitment to program management excellence for delivering transformative, world-class infrastructure that sets new standards in the industry.
“We are deeply honored to receive the prestigious Program Management Award, recognizing our commitment to industry leadership, continuous improvement, and raising the bar for project management standards,” said Shawn MacCormack, Project Director for the Morava Corridor Motorway. “This achievement reflects the dedication and expertise of the Bechtel-ENKA Morava Corridor Motorway Project team. Bechtel-ENKA’s Program Management Award from the International Road Federation is the latest in a series of honors for the Morava Corridor Motorway, made possible by the unwavering dedication and collaborative spirit of its exceptional team. In October, the project was honored with the prestigious IRF Environmental Stewardship Award for delivering infrastructure that seamlessly integrates flood protection measures with pioneering environmental initiatives, all while prioritizing biodiversity preservation. These conservation efforts and environmental innovations include 37 km of river diversion, 28 kilometers of flood protection dykes, 236 kilometers of drainage systems, 40 culverts and safety measures such as 492 kilometers of guardrails and 232 kilometers of wildlife fencing.
The Morava Corridor Motorway is a 112-km dual carriageway designed for speeds of up to 130 km/h. Running along the West Morava River valley, it connects central Serbia strategically with Pan-European Corridors 10 and 11, facilitating access to Bosnia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. The motorway encompasses 37 kilometers of river diversion, 236 kilometers of drainage systems, and 40 culverts. It also features 12 interchanges, 79 bridges, 27 overpasses, and 11 underpasses.
