Bechtel-built Cogeneration Facility Fires Up In Texas
Conoco will supply natural gas to the cogeneration facility, building upon its long-standing relationship as DuPont's fuels supplier at Sabine River Works. Power marketing services for the facility will be managed by NRG Power Marketing Inc., based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
A portion of the power and all the steam generated by the new plant will be sold to DuPont for use at Sabine River Works. The balance of electricity will flow onto Entergy's transmission facility and will be marketed throughout the Southeastern Reliability Council.
In addition to the SRW Cogeneration Limited Partnership facility, Conoco has interests in two other cogeneration plants: a 440-megawatt facility near Corpus Christi, Texas; and a 225-megawatt plant close to the company's Lake Charles, Louisiana, refinery.
Conoco Energy Solutions, with headquarters in Houston, is part of the natural gas and power division of Conoco, a major, integrated energy company active in more than 40 countries. For more information about Conoco, visit www.conoco.com.
