Bechtel today announced that the company’s Nuclear, Security & Environmental global business unit has achieved key certifications for International Organization for Standardization 14001:2015 for environmental management systems and Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series 18001:2007 for occupational health and safety management.
These certifications recognize Bechtel’s implementation of a management system designed to help control environmental impacts as well as address occupational health and safety risks at its headquarters and non-project offices. They will also help identify future efficiencies and cost savings in resource, waste, and energy management. Both certifications represent internationally recognized benchmarks and act as prerequisites for many domestic and international contracts.

The certifications process involved a two-tier audit for multiple office locations to verify the creation and execution of an effective management system.
