Two new members have joined the National Geographic Society board of trustees. They are Brendan Bechtel, president and chief operating officer of Bechtel Group, Inc., one of the world’s leading engineering, construction and project management firms; and Anthony Williams, chief executive officer of the Federal City Council and former mayor of Washington, D.C.

Tunneling complete on UK’s Crossrail
Bechtel’s team celebrates the end of tunneling on Crossrail with customer and project sponsors at a VIP event in London. The final tunnel breakthrough was attended by Prime Minister David Cameron MP and the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson MP. The Crossrail project is now 65% complete and on track for opening in 2018.
