Sam Lyon is Principal Vice President (PVP) and Manager of Bechtel’s Global Workforce Services. In this capacity, he manages Bechtel’s Labor Relations, US Industrial Relations, and International Global Workforce Services organizations.
Over a 30-year Bechtel career, Sam has been assigned to and supported projects all over the world, starting with the Al-Tameer project in Kuwait in the early 1990’s. Following that project he spent the next 18 years managing the Labor Relations function on US union construction projects across the US including in Washington State, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, California, Ohio, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Florida. In 2016 he was elected PVP and appointed to the then newly created position of Global Workforce Services Manager, responsible for global labor relations including managing Bechtel’s offices in Manila Philippines, and Mumbai, India. He is currently the Chairman of the North American Contractors’ Association which administers the National Construction Labor Agreement with North America’s Building Trades Unions.
Sam holds an MBA from Washington State University, and a BS in management from California State University at Hayward.
