Michael joined Bechtel in 2007 and has worked at Hanford Waste Treatment Vitrification Plant in Richland, WA, Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) in Oak Ridge, TN and on the Wylfa Nuclear Power Plant project in Gloucester, England. Michael recently joined Plant Vogtle in Augusta, GA.
Michael is a consultant on the ANSI/HPS N13.1 Technical Committee for sampling and monitoring of airborne radioactive substances from the stacks and ducts of nuclear facilities.
Michael is a licensed professional engineer in control systems engineering as well as a licensed professional engineer in chemical engineering. Michael is also an ISA Certified Automation Professional®.
Michael holds a PhD in chemical engineering, with a focus in process control, from the University of Birmingham in England. His doctoral research was on the application of soft computing technologies (artificial neural networks, fuzzy logic, and genetic algorithms) for process modeling and control of nonlinear processes. Michael also holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from University of Birmingham, England.
