José Hernández joined Bechtel in 2013 after 18 years as an information security executive and fellow in network, security, and forensics with Fluor. Since 2013, José has served as Bechtel’s chief information security officer and is responsible for protecting Bechtel’s data and systems on a global scale. He also leads the creation and expansion of global information security to support the company’s short- and long-term plans, and to ensure the relevant security strategy, policies, practices, intellectual property protection, and processes are well balanced to the company’s risk tolerance.
José is a member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and a certified information systems security professional. He earned his bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Penn State University, where he also served in the SHPE collegiate chapter.
