Catherine McKalip-Thompson is the Manager of Sustainability for the Infrastructure business unit of Bechtel, providing implementation strategies for the incorporation of sustainability concepts on infrastructure projects.
From 2012-2014, she was seconded to the Gabonese National Infrastructure Agency to develop a sustainability program in the implementation of the national infrastructure master plan fulfilling Gabon’s National Sustainable Development Strategy. Previously, McKalip-Thompson was the sustainability manager for the division of Bechtel leading the implementation of Bechtel’s sustainability policy in all aspects of proposals and project execution on federal contracts.
She is the Co-chair of Building Responsibly, an industry effort to advance worker welfare. She was appointed to the Frederick County Sustainability Commission and served on the San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Advisory Board. Prior to joining Bechtel, McKalip-Thompson staffed the President’s Council on Sustainable Development under the White House Council on Environmental Quality.
McKalip-Thompson holds a M.A. in International Economics, Energy and Environment from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a BA in International Relations from the University of California at Davis
