Ivan Baldwin is Bechtel’s UK and European Business Development Director for Nuclear Power, with a portfolio covering GW scale, SMR, AMR, and Fusion. Bechtel has led the delivery of 74,000 megawatts of nuclear power, spanning 7 decades.
Ivan is also the President of Women in Nuclear UK, the first man to hold this position in recognition of the much bigger commitment required from men to meet the sector target of 40% women by 2030. Ivan is also the representative for UK Nuclear Regions on the UK’s Nuclear Industry Council, where the focus is unlocking the economic potential in nuclear regions and driving social value for the people in those communities.
Prior to joining Bechtel, Ivan served as Vice President, Government & International at the National Nuclear Laboratory and held project and business development roles with BAE Systems, Nuvia Limited, and Carr’s Engineering. For 7 years up until 2022, Ivan served as the Chairman of Britain’s Energy Coast Business Cluster, a private sector led group of over 300 companies located in the Northwest of England, in the region that is home to Sellafield, BAE Systems Submarines, and the UK’s Low Level Waste Repository.
