Bechtel once again has been named one of the world’s top contractors by Engineering News-Record (ENR), a leading publication for the engineering and construction industry. The company ranked third on the magazine’s Top 250 International Contractors list, the same as last year, and ninth on the Top 250 Global Contractors list, one spot up from last year. On both lists, Bechtel was the highest-ranked company headquartered in the United States.

In concert with its partners, suppliers, and communities, Bechtel delivers complex projects that span the communications, energy, environmental remediation, mining, national security, and transportation industries. Recent project awards include a new motorway connecting Kosovo to Macedonia, a large-scale ethylene plant at the ExxonMobil Baytown Complex in Texas, and a 750-megawatt combined-cycle power plant in Virginia for Panda Power Funds. In addition, construction is progressing on the four liquefied natural gas facilities the company is building in Australia, and a Bechtel-led team assumed full responsibility for managing and operating the Y-12 National Security Complex and the Pantex Plant, key U.S. national security facilities, in July.
ENR selects companies for its international contractors list on the basis of revenue outside of their respective home countries; those on the global contractors list are measured by revenue worldwide. In addition to being ranked among the top international and global contractors, Bechtel has been named ENR’s top U.S. contractor for the last 16 years.
