WTP Wins Safety Recognition

The Waste Treatment Plant (WTP) construction site near Richland, Washington, was recently recognized with the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star status--the highest level of VPP recognition. Bechtel is designing and building WTP, the world’s largest radioactive waste treatment plant, for DOE.

Since its inception in 1994, DOE-VPP has promoted safety and health excellence through cooperative efforts among labor, management, and government at DOE contractor sites.
