Ramesh Balasubramanian

Ramesh is corporate manager of Engineering and Technology for Bechtel. In this role, he leads the company’s engineering function enterprise wide. As Manager of Engineering and Technology, Ramesh is responsible for critical work processes, procedures, tools, safety and constructability in design, innovation implementation and technical excellence across GBU. Ramesh also manages the India offices Engineering, Workshop Chair Chief Engineers and Bechtel Fellow and Bechtel Distinguished Technical Specialist programs.

Over the span of 28-year Bechtel career. 34-year in the industry, Ramesh has managed some of the complex Bechtel projects in both lumpsum and cost Re contracts. Previously, he served as the manager of Engineering for Bechtel’s Energy business unit and Bechtel’s Mining and Metals business unit in Montreal, Project Manager in 3GP in Kazakhstan, Sr Project Manager in Suez and Cardinal and Project, Engineering Manager on several Energy and infrastructure projects (Pennsylvania Chemicals, Scotford Upgrader, Surmont II, Reliance Jamnagar Refinery-I, OGD III, Equiva Low Sulphur gasoline, Mantua Creek generating project, Karachaganak and Regional Manager of Engineering in Canada).

Ramesh was elected a principal vice president in 2019 and Senior Vice President in 2024. Ramesh holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering. He is registered professional engineer in Alberta, Canada.
