Bechtel recognizes that our continued success depends on our ability to attract talented and motivated university students and recent graduates. We’re especially keen on hiring young engineers as well as graduates trained in contracts, project controls, and other functions essential to our business. We’re also always looking for talented graduates in a wide variety of other career fields.

Cooperative Education Program

Even before graduating, you can gain experience and learn about Bechtel through our Cooperative Education Program, which enables you to fulfill some curriculum requirements by working at Bechtel on an un-paid status during the school year. You can work a few days a week or full-time for several months, depending on the program requirements of your school.

To be eligible for the cooperative education program:

  • You must be enrolled in an accredited college or uiniversity that offers a cooperative education program.
  • You must have satisfactorily completed at least one year of study in engineering or in a professional academic discipline such as business, accounting and finance, or computer science.
  • The college or university you’re attending must be in close proximity to the Bechtel location where you'll work.

Internships

We also hire paid summer interns, many of whom go on to rewarding careers with us. Internships allow you to learn about Bechtel while being a part of a Bechtel work team.

To be eligible for an internship:

  • You must be enrolled as a student at a college or university, and
  • You must have satisfactorily completed at least one year of study in engineering or in a professional academic discipline such as business, accounting and finance, or computer science.

Priority for internships will be given to students within one year of graduation, to recipients of Bechtel scholarships, and to students who have previously worked for Bechtel and have been identified as high performing and/or having high potential.
