Adrian Zaccaria

Vice Chairman 

Adrian Zaccaria, 63, is vice chairman and a director of Bechtel Group, Inc.

He joined Bechtel’s Power & Industrial Division in 1971. For the following 16 years, he took on progressively more responsible assignments and served as project manager for two major nuclear construction projects.

In 1987, Adrian was named manager of Bechtel Western Power’s Houston office and was elected a senior vice president. The following year he was made deputy manager of operations and then executive vice president of Bechtel Power Corporation, with responsibility for the nuclear services business line.

Adrian was elected a director of BGI in February 1989 and was named president of Bechtel Power in August 1989. In September 1994, he was named president of Bechtel’s Global Energy Industries, and the following year became Bechtel’s president and COO—positions he held until stepping down in April 2008. 

In his current position as vice chairman, Adrian focuses on key strategies for the future, including delivering on customer expectations and pursuing business opportunities in alternative energy. 

Prior to joining Bechtel, he was employed by General Dynamics Corporation.

Adrian holds a bachelor of science degree in nautical science from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, which has bestowed upon him a Distinguished Alumni Award. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
